Tapahonso’s poems and stories carry a strong sense of place, relationship and the need for balance in all things.

Tapahonso’s poems and stories carry a strong sense of place, relationship and the need for balance in all things. To know where your feet are, to carry with you who you are, is the theme that is a constant. And the importance of story, because if you don’t know your story, how can you know anything else? The unexplained lives here too, and the eeriness of live lived outside the reach of city lights. There is humor and delight in a poem about a runaway baby (“So her name became ‘Beep-beep’/ because she liked to be a roadrunner/ and she liked having people try to catch her”) and in the story of a little dog who had an unexpected adventure. And, of course, just plain beautiful writing.
